What can reopen

  • The beach and fishing pier is now open from sunrise to sunset.
  • Commercial gyms are now able to reopen, at limited capacity.
  • Barbershops and hair & nail salons may operate at limited capacity for appointment only services.
  • Swimming pools that belong to condominiums, HOA’s, and other multi-family type housing developments may be open.
  • Community rooms, HOA or Condo Association Fitness Centers & Gyms within multi-family housing developments or community associations may be open at 50-percent normal capacity.
  • Restaurants may open at 50-percent indoor capacity. No seating is allowed at bars.
  • Restaurants that do not already have permission from the City of Dania Beach for outdoor seating must request permission to provide outdoor seating for a period of 90 days.
What must remain closed
  • Bars, nightclubs, and indoor movie theaters must remain closed.
  • City Public Pools in Dania Beach will remain closed until further notice.  
  • All interior spaces at City of Dania Beach Parks facilities, including City Hall, will remain closed to the public until further notice. 
  • HOA and Condo Association pool area hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms and shower facilities must continue to remain closed.

What are the penalties for breaking rules
  • Penalties for violating requirements mayl be prosecuted as misdemeanors, including a fine of up to $500 and/or up to 60 days in jail.  
  • Failure to properly dispose of PPE (masks & gloves) is a violation of the City’s Declaration of State of Emergency and could result in fines and jail time.

What comes next
  • While this phase 1 reopening is a step toward the new normal, things are not yet normal. Do not let your guard down.  
  • You should treat everyone you meet as an asymptomatic carrier of COVID-19.
  • You must continue to practice 6 feet of social distancing and consider wearing a facial covering when outside of your home.

Whats happening at City Hall
  • City Hall remains closed to the public.  
  • All meetings of City sponsored events (other than related to this crisis), City Boards and Code Compliance/Special Master Hearings are postponed indefinitely.
  • All essential services such as BSO Law Enforcement, Fire, Code Compliance, Utilities and Sanitation continue to operate normally.  
  • All other departments are working remotely.
  • The beach and pier is open from sunrise to sunset.
  • No group sports such as volleyball, soccer, or football will be allowed on the beach. 
  • Fishing and walking will be allowed on the Pier.  You must practice social distancing when on the Pier.  We also recommend a facial covering. 
  • No gatherings of more than 10 people on the beach.
  • All beach users must keep 6 feet social distance, unless they are from the same family or household group.
