The City of Dania Beach Launches New Public Art Program in Partnership with Broward County Cultural Division.
In an effort to provide the public with greater access to art, the City of Dania Beach has commissioned Broward County’s Cultural Division to implement a Public Art Masterplan.
The plan will be a starting point for Dania Beach’s new public art program and will establish a selection process and outline a strategic approach for the implementation of public art in the City. The goal of the program is to enhance the quality of life for Dania Beach residents and contribute to the economic success of local businesses by creating additional attractions for visitors. Sites throughout Dania Beach will be identified as possible locations for the artworks, which will be funded through private development projects in the City.
Community engagement is a key component of the public art planning process. Members of the Dania Beach community are invited to share their input by participating in a survey that can be accessed at daniabeachfl.gov/art4dania. The survey is open to all residents; no prior art knowledge is required. Responses will be collected until December 18, 2020.
The Cultural Division includes Broward County’s Public Art & Design program, which is nationally recognized for its excellence in public artworks, projects and policies. It also offers grant programs that provide over $4.5M in annual support for Broward-based cultural organizations and artists.
