Update on 911 Regional Communications

This week marks the successful launch of Broward County's local government radio system. Completed prior to the start of the new school year, approximately 4,000 local government agency and public school radio users from the public safety radio system have migrated to a new and separate local government radio system. The consolidation ensures that public safety first responders have their own dedicated public safety radio system while saving money for local government and public school users. Broward County will continue to monitor the performance of the new system and provide modifications as needed. Subscribe to updates on Regional 911.

MyBroward Mobile App Makes Service Requests Easier Than Ever

Today Broward County launched a new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system that allows residents to report and track service requests to the County. MyBroward is a free app offered on both Android and iOS devices. Using MyBroward from a cellphone or tablet, or accessing it through MyBroward.Broward.org makes it easier for residents to report issues like potholes, malfunctioning traffic lights and smoking vehicles or request services like mosquito spraying. As soon as the request is sent, the user will be notified that the request has been received and they'll be able to track its progress. Residents must create an account before making a service request.

Road Safety Improvements Completed for New School Year

While students were on summer break, Broward County’s Traffic Engineering and Highway and Bridge Maintenance Divisions were hard at work improving safety in many of the County’s school zones. Several projects were completed including reprogramming 1,061 school flashing beacons to coincide with school schedules for early release, exam, and professional study days, and posting 37 signs updating school hours. This is part of a larger program to update 500 new signs by mid-September. Enhancements and improvements were made to sidewalks, curb ramps and roadways that impact Coral Springs Middle School, Hawkes Bluff Elementary School in Davie and J.P. Taravella High School in Coral Springs. These safety zone improvement projects were completed using gas taxes. More…
