Dania Beach will hold a Special Election to fill the seat vacated by Commissioner Albert Jones. Residents interested in serving on the City Commission must qualify for candidacy between 9:00 a.m., Monday, January 4, 2010 through noon, Wednesday, January 6, 2010. To qualify, the candidate must be a U.S. citizen; a registered voter of Broward County; a resident of the City of Dania Beach for at least six months prior to the election; and be at least twenty-one years of age. Candidates must designate a campaign treasurer and open a campaign account. A filing fee of $25 and an Election Assessment Fee of $202.83 must be paid from that account. A financial disclosure is required and the candidate must take a loyalty oath.
The Primary Election will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2010, and the Special Election will be Tuesday, April 13, 2010.
