The city of Dania Beach is planning to implement Multimodal Pedestrian Improvements at various locations within the Sun Garden Isles Neighborhood as shown below:
Project Facts: The grant is intended for sidewalk and pedestrian safety improvements in the Sun Garden Isles neighborhood west of the FEC tracks from Old Griffin down to Stirling Road. The project is approved for construction in June 2019.
In 2014, the City of Dania Community Redevelopment Agency (DBCRA) applied for a grant from the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) program. Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) is authorized under Section 1122 of MAP-21 (23U.S.C. 213(b), 101(a)(29)) provides funding for programs and projects defined as transportation alternatives, including on-and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities, infrastructure projects for improving non-driver access to public transportation and enhanced mobility, community improvement activities, and environmental mitigation; recreational trail program projects; safe routes to school projects; and projects for the planning, design or construction of boulevards and other roadways largely in the right-of-way of former Interstate System routes or other divided highways. The program will be administered by the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
